About South Coast Hearing
South Coast Hearing enables Arnolds Opticians to provide local access to personal, unhurried hearing care, with time to properly understand your hearing, the situations you find difficult and what you would like to improve.
Whether you are beginning to notice a change in your hearing, need help with existing hearing aids or simply want some straightforward advice, Tim of South Coast Hearing will look after you throughout.
If hearing aids are appropriate, South Coast Hearing is fully independent, allowing Tim to recommend technology from a range of leading manufacturers rather than being tied to a specific brand.

Hearing care with Tim
Tim Davies is the audiologist and owner of South Coast Hearing.
His approach is simple: take the time to listen, explain things clearly and recommend what genuinely makes sense for the person sitting in front of him.
From your first hearing assessment through to hearing aid fitting, follow-up appointments and long-term reviews, your care has continuity and consistency.
Independent hearing care, done thoughtfully
That continuity means Tim gets to know not just your hearing test results, but how you actually hear in everyday life and what matters most to you.
The Signature Hearing Assessment
More than simply a hearing test.
South Coast Hearing’s Signature Hearing Assessment is designed to build a fuller picture of how your hearing is working, not just measure the quietest sounds you can hear.
The assessment combines detailed clinical testing with a conversation about the situations you find difficult, helping Tim understand both your hearing and how it affects everyday life.
Understanding you
Tim begins by discussing your hearing, medical history and the situations in which you would most like to hear better.
Looking at ear health
Video otoscopy is used to examine the ear canal and eardrum before hearing testing begins.
Measuring your hearing
Audiometry assesses your hearing across different pitches and levels, helping to identify the type and degree of any hearing loss.
Testing real-world hearing
Speech testing explores how well you understand speech, including in more challenging listening situations where appropriate.
