We also understand that whilst NHS hearing aids are free, accessing aftercare can be challenging and NHS technology does not always provide patients with the hearing aids that would best suit their needs.
That’s why we offer a limited selection of professionally refurbished hearing aids, available at a significantly reduced price.

Yes - each hearing aid is thoroughly cleaned, sanitised, and checked for safe use. We replace key parts like receivers, domes, and filters, and ensure the device is fully functional before fitting. We always have your devices fully manufacturer refurbished prior to the fitting.

All refurbished devices are previously owned models sourced through audiology networks, reputable suppliers or are manufacturer ex demo. We are fully transparent about the origin and condition of each device, which is explained clearly during your consultation.

Before fitting, we carry out a full hearing assessment and determine if the refurbished device is clinically appropriate for your needs. If it’s not suitable, we won’t proceed and we will source more appropriate devices to suit you.

Refurbished hearing aids usually come with a manufacturer warranty. However, we will always be fully transparent and confirm this with you before fitting. Regardless, South Coast Hearing provides a 60-day support period, plus ongoing aftercare and servicing options at a reasonable rate.

Prices vary depending on the model and age of the device, but are typically 50–70% lower than buying new. Each device will have a different history and so price will vary on this. We will always be up front about cost so there are no surprises.
